The apartment is a 4 room, 1st floor flat with access to a large roof terrace and plenty of parking within the grounds

It's a 10 mins walk down to the sea, and 15 mins up to the village

The apartment rooms are large and it would be possible to sleep 6. Well-equipped kitchen, brand new bathroom and a washing machine

No WiFi though data connectivity is good. Some local bars offer WiFi

Here's a video of the apartment - YouTube

Heat - days can be hot in summer but evenings are cool with a welcome breeze through the night. There is a fan; no air-conditioning (we haven't found it necessary)

Insects - no mosquitos so you can sleep with windows wide open

Best months are June, July, September and early October. April/May can be less predictable. Winter is mild with lots of sunshine but the occasional torrential downpour

Locality

Pisciotta is a small town on the Cilento coast 2 hours south of Naples. The area is well known to Italians though even they won't have heard of Pisciotta. Very few Brits find their way to it, a scattering of Germans come in the autumn

The town is a lively, rural community with plenty of events in the summer. The marina has bars and shops and the beach is "Blue Flag" for purity

Travel

It's possible to visit without a car - travel from Naples by rail to Pisciotta-Palinuro, then taxi to the apartment - 5 mins (but needs advance booking) - then enjoy the marina and borgo by foot

In summer a regular mini-bus service drives up and down from the piazza to the marina

It's possible to visit the spectacular Paestum temples (40mins away) by train, and Pompei is accessible from Naples by train. Naples is 2 hours away

Practicals

You'll have a set of keys - one for the front door of the building, and one for the apartment

Andy and Di will have forewarned the other apartment owners of your arrival/duration of visit. Please say hello and introduce yourselves (only Italian spoken)

The apartment will need to be opened up and switched on - You.tube video guides link

Tables and chairs for the terrace - all stored in the communal upstairs store - our table is the wooden slatted one with similar chairs and light blue cushions, plus there's a small drying rack for washing

Leaving - you'll need to leave the apartment clean, everything switched off and with beds stripped - use the checklist hung up by the door to make sure you've closed down properly:
